3Com network boosts communications and energy efficiency at Thailand's Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi resort
Resort saves costs while enjoying seamless external and branch office connectivity
BANGALORE, INDIA, November 14, 2008 /Networking PR News/ -- 3Com Corporation, a leading provider of converged network infrastructure solutions, today announced it has completed the installation of an advanced, energy-efficient communications network for the Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi, a luxury boutique resort at the picturesque Panga Bay in Thailand.
The 3Com solution, which includes feature-rich switches and routers, enabled seamless connectivity between Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi and other Six Senses offices and resorts around the world while enabling guests with access to the resort's efficient and reliable broadband and telephony services.
In addition to the performance and benefits of the 3Com end-to-end solution, the resort realized significant power and maintenance cost savings by utilizing 3Com's energy-efficient switches. The use of these switches is in line with Six Senses' policy of encouraging the use of products and processes with minimal environmental impact. The Six Senses group, with branches in a number of countries, promotes energy efficiency, sustainable water and waste management, protection of natural surroundings and air quality, and noise control.

3Com switches leverage energy-efficient components and designs. In a recent report by independent research firm In-Stat entitled "Green Networking Equipment: Who Leads and Who Lags," 3Com's switches were found to be up to 60 percent more energy efficient than competitors' products, making it the undisputed "green leader" in networking.
The network is 10G-ready, with only one-tenth of its capacity currently utilized. This gives Six Senses significant room to support bandwidth-hungry applications in the future such as IPTV, more speedy Internet connection and line of business applications geared toward better customer service.
